Psalm 45

Recap: This Psalm rejoices at the wedding of the king. The context of the Psalm might be some royal wedding, most likely that of Solomon. However, there are several descriptions in the Psalm goes beyond that of an earthly king. Hence, this is considered as a Messianic Psalm which speaks of the coming of the Lord Jesus. The theme is blessing associated with the Royal wedding. It is a prophetic view of the celebration in the Messianic rule. The Psalm consists of:

Prologue (45:1)

45: To the Chief Musician.
Set to Contemplation of the Sons of Korah.
A Song of Love.
1 My heart is overflowing with a good theme;
I recite my composition concerning the King;
My tongue is the pen of a ready writer.

This portion serves as a introduction to the Psalm. V 1. This verse shows the process of writing this Psalm - an instrument in the hand of the Holy Spirit who is the ultimate author of this Psalm as well as the whole of the Scripture. This process is referred as inspiration.

Prayer: Father: I worship you for the inspiring the human authors to write the scripture so that we have now your authentic revelation. Lord, I pray that the same Holy Spirit is available today while I read your scripture to illuminate my mind with your thoughts. Amen.
